Who we are

A service and personal-growth club with a sustained focus on new immigrants, their children, and migrant workers — advancing cultural inclusion, cultural equity and support for immigrant families.
Members work in education, finance, nonprofits, digital, IT, law, aviation, machinery, public relations, media, regional revitalisation, consumer goods and research.
The club actively encourages women's participation in public life, and continues to bring Rotary to a younger generation.
Where the name comes from
Tagala comes from the Ketagalan language, where it meant marshland — the people’s traditional territory across what is now the Taipei Basin, and later the formal name for the basin itself. The club took the name both to invoke the origin of greater Taipei and to express a hope: that it might hold the vitality of a wetland, gathering members from every walk of life to grow together and nourish the seeds of a shared society.
Three ideas in our club banner
Our club banner takes Taipei Tagala as its subject and holds three ideas. We ask members to practise the spirit of the marsh: to exchange ideas at our meetings, build a shared understanding of what service means, and then act — starting with ourselves and our families, and reaching out to the community and the district.

How our meetings work
A founding tradition holds: half of our programmes deal directly with service work, and the rest give priority to social enterprise, social innovation and regional revitalisation — so members keep encountering new models of service from Taiwan and abroad. Anyone interested in our talks or our service programme is welcome to join us.
