Running a Nonprofit Newsroom: An Amplifier for the Unheard

葉靜倫 Sara Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Right Plus

This meeting welcomes 葉靜倫 Sara, founder and editor-in-chief of Right Plus, to share how a nonprofit independent newsroom sustains itself outside the commercial traffic economy while continuing to amplify public-interest issues, social innovation and the voices of those in precarious circumstances.

Right Plus is one of the few independent outlets in Taiwan dedicated to public welfare and social issues. It has long kept its focus on nonprofits, social enterprises and the many actors working to advance the public interest — using in-depth reporting, investigative features and cross-sector collaboration to surface stories that would otherwise go unnoticed, and to connect forces across society in pursuit of a more inclusive future.

Topics we'll explore

  • Why start a public-interest outlet, and how to stay independent
  • Widening impact through reporting, advocacy and partnership
  • Connecting resources across the social sector
